Autopia: Autobahn

How to Play

You are a Vehicle Producer. Each turn (4 game years) you:

1. Design & build vehicles to sell next turn — pick a drivetrain, style, performance, production run, and profit margin.
2. Invest R&D points (earned by making a profit) to make a drivetrain more efficient or cheaper.
3. Click Advance Turn. Computer consumers buy the most attractive cars; your unsold cars are dumped at 75% of build cost.

Watch out for CAFE: the required fleet fuel economy rises over the years (27.5 → 35 → 54.5 → 62 MPG). Miss it and you pay a penalty on every car you sell. Electrified drivetrains pass easily but cost more to build. Bigger production runs lower your per-unit cost (minimum at a run of 250).

This is an MVP prototype of the "autobahn" single-player mode of Autopia, reimplemented in the browser. Formulas follow the original game (price = (1+margin)×cost + feebate; CAFE penalty = (goal−mpg)×55×units).
